How to reach the city center from the airport?
You can travel from Luleå Airport to the city center by using bus or taxi. Bus lines are numbers 4 and 104. The journey from the airport to central Luleå takes approximately 15 minutes. You can buy a ticket from LLT app (Luleå Lokaltrafik). You can also book a taxi from the taxi service counter available at the airport. The journey will last for 10 minutes to reach your destination with a cost of 210-260 SEK.
Transportation in Luleå
It is very easy to plan your journey and transportation in Luleå. LTT has an app called journey planner (https://www.llt.lulea.se/) where you can plan and book your bus tickets. Due to the ongoing pandemic, LLT does not offer ticket sales onboard the bus. Tickets must be purchased before boarding the bus. You can travel with a bus pass or a mobile ticket.
Types of tickets: A 72-hour ticket is the perfect choice for when you’re just visiting Luleå for a few days. This pass will allow you to take unlimited trips for 72 hours. The pass is valid for one person at a time and costs 150 SEK. You can buy the 72-hour pass as a mobile ticket in LLT app, in person at LLT info at Smedjegatan 13 H, or at Pressbyrån in Strand Galleria. Single tickets you can buy from LLT app. The ticket must be activated before you board the bus. To activate the ticket, click on “Aktivera nu” (Activate Now). Once your ticket is activated, it is valid for 75 minutes. In LLT ticket machines, which are called Quickomats, you can buy a single QR code ticket. Please note that the single ticket will be activated immediately upon purchase and is valid for the next 75 minutes.
